Brain Injuries

The National Brain Appeal

We raise funds to advance treatment and research at The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and the Institute of Neurology – together known as 'Queen Square'. Since the charity was set up, and with the help of our incredible supporters, we have funded over £45million of ground-breaking projects in Queen Square.

The National Hospital is regarded as the ‘cradle of British neurology’. It is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions. The UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology has a world-class reputation for neuroscience. Its mission is to translate neuroscience discovery research into treatments for patients with neurological diseases.

In the UK alone, 1 in 6 of us has a neurological condition. That’s 14.7million mums, dads, sons, daughters, friends and colleagues who are affected. It’s the challenge of our times.

We want to improve the outcome and quality of life for everyone affected by a neurological condition. These include brain tumours, stroke, epilepsy, dementias, MS and Parkinson’s disease to name but a few. We achieve our vision by funding state of the art equipment, major building programmes and life-saving research – over and above what the NHS can provide.

Your help can make this possible.

Brain Research UK

The brain is the most complex organ in our body. It weighs just 3lb, yet it controls our emotions, senses and actions. Every single one of them. It is how we process the world around us. So when it breaks down, we break down.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

There are hundreds of neurological conditions including Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, Brain Tumours, Stroke, Parkinson's Disease and Epilepsy.

We fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected.

Help loved ones live better, longer.
