We provide Expert Witness services for Civil and Family cases.
Dr Khan has also acted as an expert in the context of civil, immigration and asylum cases – particularly when documenting the psychological effect of torture and other human rights violations. She has carried out assessments as part of personal injury claims for example from a road traffic accident or an accident at work.
She has acted as an expert in the context of the Mental Health Act Tribunals. She assesses for a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality and relationship difficulties and difficulties with managing emotions resulting in self-harm or suicidal ideation. She is a specialist in the assessment and treatment of trauma generally. She holds experience of delivering psychological treatment, such as trauma-focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization therapy to people following a road traffic accident or other accidents.
She holds an NHS position at the University Hospital of North Midlands in Stoke on Trent. Here she provides specialist clinical psychology services to patients within the critical care wards. Prior to this, she worked for 15 years within NHS mental health services in hospital and community settings.

Dr Khan specialises in adult psychology and therefore cannot take instructions for children/young people.
