Dr Shane Roche can act as an expert witness, including the preparation of medico-legal reports and appearing in court, in negligence cases relating to pressure sores, poor nursing and hospital care, capacity assessments, falls and anything to do with older people.
Medico-legal work:
Dr Roche regularly does medico-legal work, under instruction and has been doing so for the past 5 years. He is very keen on building this practice. This is mostly related to older people and includes assessment of testamentary capacity, capacity, life expectancy, desktop screening reports, breach of duty/causation, condition and prognosis.
His work is mostly for the plaintiff and less so for defendants. However, he would like to expand the latter. Dr Roche has particular interests in medical negligence, dementia, stroke, depression, falls, life expectancy, pressure sores, Parkinson’s and general frailty but also all general medical problems in over 16 year olds. He has attended the Bond Solon courses in excellence in report writing, courtroom skills training and cross examination courses.

Dr Roche can provide a report within 6 weeks of receiving a bundle.
He is able to visit clients in their homes in most areas of South England but willing to travel further if given enough notice.
He charges £250 per hour which will includes a medical report. He charges half time if travelling by public transport. He is also happy to come to a reasonable agreement for travel, if travelling by car.
Dr Roche is happy to partake in conference calls or attend meetings if required.
