Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Andrew Titchener is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. His clinical practice encompasses elective shoulder and elbow surgery, both arthroscopic and arthroplasty procedures, and general and tertiary complex and major trauma.

Mr Titchener undertook a trauma fellowship at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham and completed post-CCT general trauma and elective shoulder and elbow fellowships in Cambridge, Oxford and Perth. He holds an LLM degree in medical law where his dissertation was on surgical consent in trauma situations.

He accepts medico-legal instructions from claimants and defendants in his areas of expertise, and has a particular interest in complex upper limb trauma, general trauma, and elective shoulder and elbow surgery (both soft tissue and arthroplasty).

Mr Titchener specialises in the long term management of disability arising from major traumatic injury. He is also able to accept instruction for non-traumatic problems of the shoulder and elbow.

Within these specialist fields, he provides reports considering causation, condition and prognosis, and breach of duty/medical negligence.

Mr Titchener is usually able to provide appointments within 2-4 weeks of instruction and return reports within 2-4 weeks of client examination. He consults in Oxford but is able to travel on an individual case basis.
