Consultant Psychologist

Dr Nikki Scheiner is a consultant psychologist, founder and clinic director of The Functional Symptoms Recovery Clinic on London's Harley Street. Dr Scheiner is an expert in the treatment of functional somatic and neurological disorders as well as having years of experience treating post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression and OCD. She also assesses individuals who are subject to extradition proceedings or Home Office ‘return orders’.

Dr Scheiner undertakes expert witness instructions, including the preparation of medico legal reports and giving evidence in court, in cases relating to:

• The psychological impact of extradition on the mental health of political refugees or the return of asylum seekers to their country of origin or a third country
• The impact of Functional neurological symptoms (FND) and other functional disorders, including chronic pain, on an individual’s ability to function in the workplace or appear in a protracted court case.
• Work-place conflict.
• Post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr Scheiner has treated sufferers of trauma since 2005, including veterans of conflicts around the globe, survivors of rape and sexual assault, survivors of torture, people injured in industrial accidents or RTAs, refugees and those who have witnessed violent death.
• The impact of coercive control and domestic violence.

Dr Scheiner can take instructions on behalf of either claimant or defendant or as a Single Joint Expert.
