Dispute resolution in Aberdeen

Aberdeen Business School at Robert Gordon University is launching a short online course entitled Introduction to Commercial Dispute Resolution, in conjunction with the world respected dispute resolution body the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CiArb).

It will be the only purely online course that, on successful completion, will allow eligibility to Associate Membership of the CiArb. It is also the only University course run in direct collaboration with the CiArb.
The course, which launched in February, aims to provide law professionals with an introduction to a wide range of dispute resolution processes available around the world. It is designed for those with little or no prior knowledge of dispute resolution practices available in the commercial sector. Although touching upon dispute resolution via the public courts, the course will concentrate mainly on
non-public court resolution methods.
Course leader Derek Auchie said: “This online course will be taught jointly between a senior legally qualified academic and a very experienced dispute resolution professional, providing both legal and practical input.
“Students can work at their own pace within the 12-week course duration. This course can be taken anywhere in the world and will be delivered on the very impressive and interactive online learning platform at the Robert Gordon University, CampusMoodle.”
