Dr Paul Howell is a Consultant Anaesthetist of over 30 years standing who has a special interest in obstetric anaesthesia and medico-legal matters, including providing expert opinions in medical negligence/malpractice cases predominantly relating to anaesthesia for the pregnant woman. His specialist areas of expertise include:

- • Pre-eclampsia and eclampsia
- • Maternal death
- • Care of the sick obstetric patient
- • Awareness during anaesthesia
- • Problems with tracheal intubation
- • Post dural puncture headache

He is also able to consider issues relating to general (i.e. non speciality-specific) anaesthesia.
