Amir is an expert of failure analysis and root cause analysis who has led and assisted root cause analyses of failures across industries, including process, energy, renewables, and infrastructure. With a background in assessing process hazards and system performance, Amir has been relied upon to advise legal professionals on disputes including:   

• Mechanical Failures: Leaks and ruptures in piping systems in commercial, industrial and residentials properties; and the premature degradation of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Installation and Material Failures: Failures of large-scale heavy structures and assessing damages that occurred during project installation due to deviations from approved methodology.
• Fire Investigations: Root cause analysis for fires involving electrical and gas appliances and electric equipment in residential/commercial properties and industrial facilities.
• Contamination: Identifying the causes of corrosion in different applications.

Amir has also conducted analyses of process hazards, and compliance with applicable codes, regulations; and industry best practices. He has analysed equipment types, models, and design choices against industry standards such as API, ISO, and ASME to assess compliance and performance.

As part of investigations, Amir conducts rigorous procedural review of technical project documents and operational procedures to identify challenges, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improving safety and productivity.

He provides engineering consultation to help clients mitigate losses and improve operational safety. Collaborating with clients to understand their requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

Examples of process-related cases include:

• System Explosions: Conducted root cause analysis for explosions in cryogenic hydrogen production facilities and for compressor explosions.
• Power Plant Failures: Failures of Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) systems and incidents at combined cycle power plants.
• Renewable Energy Systems: Analysed failures in Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems, including sizing and performance issues, and investigated defects in wind turbines.

Amir has developed comprehensive technical reports, including evaluations and gap analyses. He has also assisted in drafting expert witness support in legal and insurance proceedings.
