Phil O’Leary
Principal Timber Consultant
Mr Phil O'Leary has over 25 years of experience in the design, specification, structural grading, supply, installation and performance in service of timber, including 20 years of experience as an expert witness.
He also acts in expert determination and as an expert adviser. Phil has investigated and reported on diverse matters relating to timber, wood-based panels and associated products.
His expert witness work is primarily in the construction industry, for example involving structural timber, doors and windows, wood trim, cladding and wood flooring, as well as kitchen, bathroom and office furniture, wood preservatives and wood coatings.
Phil frequently acts in cases in other industries, including national infrastructure, garden furniture, tool handles and sports goods.
He is currently chairman of the BSI Wood Preservation Committee and chair of the board of Woodknowledge Wales.
