Dr Irfan Chaudry is a Consultant in Critical Care Medicine and Anaesthesia at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is a major trauma centre providing tertiary services in major cancer, robotic surgery, pelvic floor, neurosciences, vascular and maxillofacial services to a catchment population of approximately 1.5 million patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria. The unit has 32 beds.
Dr Chaudry is a member of the Expert Witness Institute with fourteen years’ experience in preparing reports that are fully CPR35 compliant, as well as short-form reports. He has extensive experience handling complaints and reporting for His Majesty’s Coroner.
He is currently a Medical Examiner covering the Lancashire and South Cumbria region and is also a recognised expert witness for the General Medical Council. His average report turnaround time is up to six weeks from receipt of instructions.
His case work is approximately 80% Defendant and 20% Claimant. He is happy to provide joint expert work and has been involved in complex case work relating to neuro-intensive care and brain-injured patients.
Dr Chaudry accepts instructions on all aspects of general intensive care medicine, the acutely deteriorating patient and post-ICU syndrome. He has subspecialty interests in neuro intensive care and major trauma care.
He also accepts cases related to wider critical care network decision-making and instructions relating to all aspects of anaesthesia, excluding cardiothoracic and obstetric anaesthesia.
