Consultant Podiatric Surgeon

Mr Ewan Kannegieter is a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon with specialist expertise in foot surgery, foot and ankle pathology, foot trauma, post traumatic foot pain, complications following foot surgery and lower limb musculoskeletal injury.

He is a previous National Dean of Podiatric Surgery for the Royal College of Podiatry and currently holds an adjunct academic professor appointment in medical sciences. These roles reflect his wider contribution to education, professional standards and the development of foot surgical practice.

He provides independent medico legal opinion in cases involving breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis. His expertise includes consent, surgical decision making, risk communication, complications following foot surgery, delayed diagnosis, delayed referral, standards of care and the expected standard of foot surgical practice.

Mr Kannegieter accepts instructions in clinical negligence and personal injury matters, including road traffic accidents, accidents at work, public liability, occupiers’ liability, slip and trip injuries, product liability where involving foot or ankle injury, and injury caused by animals where involving foot or ankle injury. He accepts both claimant and defendant instructions, with his current medico legal work being approximately evenly split between the two.

He is currently undertaking formal medico legal expert witness training through CUBS. He has completed modules in expert report writing, courtroom skills and cross examination, with the civil law component scheduled for completion shortly.
