Mr Ridyard is an experienced Consultant specialising in medical and surgical glaucoma, as well as complex cataract surgery.
He has particular expertise in:
He provides medico-legal reports in clinical negligence and personal injury cases, acting for both Claimant and Defendant solicitors. He has completed formal expert witness training and is recognised for delivering clear, concise, and defensible reports.
With over 3,000 cataract procedures performed and extensive glaucoma surgical experience, Mr Ridyard brings strong clinical authority to complex ophthalmic cases.
Mr Ridyard graduated with honours in the top centile from the University of Manchester and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
He completed specialist ophthalmology training within the Yorkshire Deanery and now practices as a Consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
He has undertaken formal medico-legal training with Bond Solon, MediLaw and the Expert Witness Institute where he is also on the editorial board.
In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching, research, and supervision of junior clinicians.
