Familiar with litigation, arbitration and mediation proceedings and adjudication.

Familiar with construction in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Thailand, Singapore, United Kingdom, and Vietnam

Provision of Expert Opinions and Reports in relation to quantum issues.

Experience of examination, cross-examination and re-examination in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.

  • Airports [seventeen (17) projects] including airfields and airfield lighting, baggage handling and terminal buildings e.g. Port Harcourt International Airport in Nigeria, Komo Airfield in Papua New Guinea and Sky Plaza in Hong Kong’
  • Commercial Developments [twenty-eight (28) projects] e.g. Pacific Place and Cathay Pacific Headquarters, both in Hong Kong, and YOMA in Myanmar.
  • Educational Facilities including schools, teacher training colleges, colleges of science & technology and universities e.g. two (2) Teacher Training Colleges in Nigeria.
  • Energy [five (5) projects] including 230kV overhead transmission lines for EGAT in Thailand, and a 3 x 18mW power station in Borneo.
  • Government Buildings e.g. British High Commission in Nigeria and new Australian Embassy in Bangkok.
  • Hotels and Leisure Facilities [seventeen (17) projects] e.g. Singapore Sports Hub, two (2) public swimming pools in Hong Kong and the Wynn Palace casino in Macau.
  • Hospitals and Healthcare [twelve (12) projects] e.g. Tuen Mun Hospital and Shatin Teaching Hospital, both in Hong Kong and Connexion in Singapore.
  • Industrial [fifty (50) projects] including breweries, cement works, data centres, factories, FPSO, landfills, logistics centres, offshore oil and gas facilities, pipelines, pumping stations.
  • Military Installations e.g. RAF Saxa Vord, CSOS in Chung Hom Kok, Hong Kong and Nee Soon Camp in Singapore.
  • Port, Marine & Reclamation Works [five (5) projects] e.g. Map Ta Phut jetty in Thailand, Ma On Shan seawalls and reclamation in Hong Kong.
  • Process Engineering [fourteen (14)] including LEUNA 2000 in Germany, RasGas in Qatar and Adriatic LNG.
  • Railways [seventeen (17)] including the Downtown Line in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station, MTR contracts in Hong Kong and the Red Line in Thailand.
  • Residential [eighteen (18)] e.g. Harbour City & Taikoo Shing in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Housing Authority contracts and Ardmore Park in Singapore.
  • Retail [ten (10) projects], not least Pacific Place II and Festival Walk, both in Hong Kong.
  • Roads and Bridges e.g. A19 in the United Kingdom, road upgrade in Chad, new six (6) lane highway in Sri Lanka, West Kowloon Expressway in Hong Kong and 2nd stage Expressway in Bangkok.
  • Water [nine (9) projects] including water & waste water treatment and desalination e.g. Changi WTP in Singapore and Ras Laffan in Bahrain.

Based in Hong Kong, John’s remit is global excluding USA and Canada. Over the last ten (10) years, this has included (i) expert opinions on projects in Macau, Myanmar and Singapore, (ii) contractual and commercial services on a data centre in Hong Kong, a casino in Macau, a water reclamation plant in Singapore, (iii) a FIDIC Dispute Adjudication Board appointment in Thailand, and (iv) five (5) expert witness appointments in Hong Kong and Singapore and Thailand.

John has over fifty (50) years’ experience in the international construction industry. His maxim is that hard-earned years of experience has proven time and time again that tomorrow is too late. This precept has helped earn the confidence and trust of clients internationally.

John is a member of the Academy of Experts.
