Last Chance Animal Rescue
Registered Charity No. 1002349
Don’t leave it to chance... leave it to LAST CHANCE
As animals can’t speak for themselves it falls to me to ask you to consider leaving a legacy to Last Chance Animal Rescue. Any money that we may receive will be spent entirely on the running and improvement at the Centre, which is dedicated to the rescuing, rehabilitation and re-homing of dogs and cats etc.
Many of the number we receive have found their way to our door through circumstances such as their beloved owner passing away, may that door always be open.
Many are elderly, in their twilight years, and would just love to find a caring retirement home, something we have great success and pleasure in finding for them, and we continue to care for them, young and old, long after they are settled in their new loving homes, by offering all kinds of support, including financial if needed, for their continued welfare and well being.
As you can imagine this level of commitment doesn’t come cheaply, which is why I am appealing to you to remember Last Chance if possible, when you make your will. They do say where there’s a Will there’s a way!

Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust
The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust (GHDT) was founded in 2002. With no tradition of horsemanship in The Gambia and a combination of poor management, high disease risk and poverty, farmers were investing comparatively large amounts of money for a working animal only for it to die, too often within six months. Not only was this causing further hardship for the farmers, it was also creating a serious animal welfare problem and the veterinary services did not have the infrastructure or finances to be able to help the farmers.
The aim of the GHDT is to reduce rural poverty in The Gambia through improving the health, welfare and productivity of working animals.

Royal College of Surgeons of England
Register Charity No. 212808
With 4.2 million surgical operations carried out every year in England alone, our aim to maintain and advance surgical standards in patient care has never been so important. Some operations are minor, while others are life-saving or will dramatically enhance the quality of life. In every case, the patient places their trust in the hands of the surgeon.
Independent of the NHS, the College relies heavily on charitable support to fund the development of these activities. Legacies and donations from grant-giving trusts, companies and individuals provide an essential source of income, and allow us to fund important new projects and initiatives.
The College continues to sustain and improve surgical standards throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our training, education and research programmes are intended to advance the knowledge and skills of surgeons so that the treatment received by patients is of the highest possible standard.

The Seeing Dogs Alliance
Seeing Dogs has made increasing progress since it started operations in 2001. Our highly successful rearing/training programme presently includes several dogs either being puppy reared or receiving their Seeing Dog (our term for guide dog) training. We currently have 15 working Seeing Dogs, including two Hungarian wirehaired vizslas, which are the first of the breed in the UK, and maybe in the world, to qualify to guide blind people, and 3 retired dogs.
It costs us about £15,000 to train each dog and owner. Our clients are currently usually trained in their home environment, although our target is to have a dedicated training centre. When residential training has been required, we have used hotels.
Puppies remain with the puppy rearers till they are 12-14 months old, during which time they are familiarised with all the circumstances they are likely to encounter as Seeing Dogs – crowded streets, heavy traffic, buses, trains, cars, cafés, restaurants, stairs (although not escalators), lifts, swing doors, etc. An allowance is available to cover the expenses of this very important pre-training work. We like our puppy rearers to take their charges to puppy training classes, however, which help with obedience training and socialisation with other dogs. We provide them with a reference manual, and visit them from time to time to check on the puppies’ progress. We are also always at the other end of a phone to give advice or to obtain it for them.
Our main need is funding. At present, we concentrate our funds on training dogs and owners, who have to pay for the dogs’ food and routine vets’ bills. You can painlessly make a difference to our finances. Please remember us in your will, and/or complete the attached Subscription and Donation Form and return it, together with a cheque, or, what would be more useful to us, complete the attached Bankers’ Order for a regular monthly, quarterly or annual donation, at a level you will not miss, and return it. If you are a taxpayer and you complete the Gift Aid Declaration on whichever form you use, we shall be able to recover from the tax authority a further quarter of what you give. You can also donate online on our website, but please let us know if you do this, so that we can acknowledge your donation. Thank you.

Camphill Foundation provides much-needed financial support to projects which greatly enhance the quality of life of adults, children and young people with learning disabilities. Camphill communities throughout the UK and Ireland offer safe and supportive environments in a variety of semi-rural and urban settings where individuals can feel at home and develop their personal abilities and interests. There is also a strong sense of belonging to a diverse but cohesive intentional community and supported living network. Camphill Foundation supports development projects such as the building of new accommodation, establishing new workshops and facilities, developing agricultural and horticultural activities, providing new equipment, and various educational, training, cultural and social initiatives. Support is often in the form of grants to help projects get started and loans at a low rate of interest, usually over several years.
Supporting Camphill Foundation means also fostering a new understanding and recognition of people with disabilities and enabling them to develop and make use of their astonishing talents and skills as fully engaged, talented and co-responsible members of the community carrying out important and meaningful work which is both fulfilling for them and of great value to others.
