Port & Container Terminal Operations Expert
Andreas Nigulis brings over 40 years of expertise in port operations, container terminal operations and the management of marine and inland terminals, with experience overseeing container terminal throughputs in excess of 2.3 million TEU annually.
He has held senior executive positions with leading global terminal operators, including Eurogate, Contship Italia Group, P&O Ports and PSA Europe, working across Germany, Italy and Portugal. His experience encompasses port and terminal management, cargo and container handling, terminal equipment and container crane operations, terminal capacity and productivity, engineering and terminal systems.
Since 2012, Andreas has acted as an independent expert on port and container terminal operations in litigation and international arbitration for insurers and solicitors, with case experience spanning Southeast Asia, South and Central America, the Middle East, Northern Europe, India, Egypt, Türkiye and Canada.
His instructions include the high-profile MV Ever Given / Suez Canal blockage marine insurance claim, as well as appointments by leading firms including HFW, RPC, Hill Dickinson and The London P&I Club. His expert work draws on decades of executive management experience in marine and inland terminals, combined with continuous consultancy work in the ports and terminals sector.
Areas of expertise
A Master Mariner with a Diploma in Business Engineering and Maritime Studies, Andreas is a full member of The Academy of Experts in London and has completed Bond Solon Witness Familiarisation & Intensive Cross Examination training.
Fluent in German, English and Italian, with intermediate proficiency in Portuguese, Andreas combines hands-on operational and executive experience with an international perspective gained across major port and container terminal environments worldwide.
